Get involved - volunteer for the Trust!
Maryhill Burgh Halls Trust is an independent local charity. We have two members of staff and greatly appreciate the support we receive from volunteers to keep this great community facility alive. If you're interested in really getting involved at the heart of the Trust, why not join our friendly team of volunteer? If you would like to join the team please carry on reading and then fill in the attached form. If you would like to become a member of the Trust or become part of our Board, please refer to this pages in Get Involved.
We currently require:
- Heritage volunteers can deliver building tours, guided walks and workshops with schools, community groups and the public to help us promote Maryhill's history. Some heritage volunteers have helped us research local history and manage and interpret our growing heritage collection. There are plenty of opportunities to help us safeguard and promote Maryhill's unique history so please let us know how you would like to get involved.
- Reception Volunteers help us ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the hall by greeting and directing visitors and event attendees, both face-to-face and over the phone. This is great opportunity for anyone looking to gain reception, customer service or events experience, with morning and afternoon volunteering slots available Monday - Friday.
- Administration/Event Volunteers carry out a wide range of tasks that help us to ensure customers are looked after from the moment they make an enquiry until their event is complete. This role provides valuable experience for those looking to work in administration, events or marketing and a great opportunity to gain a range of skills in an interesting and varied environment.
We provide in-house and where possible external training to support our volunteers and we reimburse travel expenses to and from the Burgh Halls from the Great Glasgow area. We have teamed up with Volunteer Glasgow which have a fantastic range of skills development opportunities for volunteers from Saltire Awards to employability skills courses.
