Maryhill Burgh Halls Building Tour

Maryhill Burgh Halls Trust would like to invite you to take a free tour of the Halls, learn about the history of the building, see the unique stained glass windows and other Maryhill related artefacts and stories, whilst viewing what facilities are available to hire and let.

Parts of the building are not open to the public on a daily basis, but we are keen to give people an opportunity to see ‘behind the scenes’. There is an opportunity to join the Trust or visit our small shop at the end of the tour.

Women of Maryhill tour

From suffragettes to institutions to 'wayward’ girls, there is a story to tell of women's history in Maryhill.

Only two of the original 20 Stephen Adam stained glass windows feature women but this is not to say that women did not play an important role in Maryhill's history. Prompted by curiosity, our wonderful heritage volunteers have researched local women's history in Maryhill and can share their knowledge on the Women of Maryhill tour in the building.

This tour is also available as a guided walk around the Maryhill area, taking in the old sites where women made history.

Maryhill Heritage Walks

Discover the rich heritage of Maryhill along the canal and river walkways on a guided walk with a member of our team. Mindfulness and other walks are also advertised on our website and social media channels.

Please wear comfortable clothing which is suitable for mixed terrains. When booking, please let us know of any accessibility requirements, and we will do our best to accommodate them.

In the event of bad weather, the walk may be cancelled up to an hour before the start time. If the walk is cancelled, we will contact you via the contact details you provide when you book with us.
